Covid-19

UPDATE 24/03/2020

In accordance with the Governments advice, we have decided to take more steps to prevent the spread of Covid-19. We value each team member & Customer the same, however increasing cases and concern related with this virus has meant that we have had to take the following actions.

Through this period of uncertainty, we have decided that we will keep the website live but have now disabled the option to checkout. We are currently running on the absolute minimum staffing requirements until no longer necessary, couriers are running short of staff and we must adapt. Because of this, we would not be able to offer the 5-star quality service you have come to expect from us, so this is the best way to protect everyone involved in our processes.

All orders placed up until Tuesday 2pm will be dispatched and left with couriers, where service is still currently prompt and on time.

Covid-19 and what we’re doing to keep everyone safe.

Here at UK Planet Tools, we’re committed to keeping up with our high standards of customer care. With this in my, and the recent events relating to COVID-19, we wanted to share some information with you.

What are we doing to keep ourselves, our drivers and you safe?

  • Throughout our offices and warehouses, we’ve added hand sanitisers to packing station, picking trolley, and several other important areas in the warehouse.
  • The office, kitchens and toilets have all been topped up daily to ensure no shortage.
  • We’re splitting lunch times between departments, and regularly sanitising areas of common use.
  • Staff are now wearing masks & gloves when interacting with all products destined for our customers.
  • We’ve closed our head office trade counter, restricted public access to our buildings.
  • And most importantly, we’re monitoring our teams for any sign of the suspected symptoms to act early, and fast.
  • Our couriers have all been instructed to change their delivery protocol.
  • Royal Mail and DPD will not leave your parcel on the doorstep, knock your door and step back up to 2 meters while waiting for you to open the door.
  • Our couriers will now ask for your name, then the driver will provide their signature for the parcel. This will mean no more swapping of hand devices between people.

What should you consider?

  • Deliveries may face delays to non UK mainland areas
  • Deliveries may be left in safe places, you will always receive a request if this is what you want.

Currently at UK Planet Tools, it is business as usual, so far we have seen only 4 confirmed cases in Milton Keynes, but we are watching the developments, taking government advice and management are meeting daily to discuss all possibilities and steps we can take to keep providing great service until it is no longer possible.
