What is included in my Milwaukee warranty?

Milwaukee products don’t just look good, they run like the machines they are. Built with durability in mind, Milwaukee pulls out all the stops to ensure they’ve made something that helps the trades professional for years to come, using only the best technologies available.

 

However, they know that sometimes, even the best can get it wrong. We’re all human, after all. That’s why they provide a 1-year guarantee as standard - as well as a 2-year extension - to all their customers, with some exceptions (but we’ll explain that part in a bit).

1-year guarantee

Any Milwaukee power tool purchased through UK Planet Tools comes with a 1-year guarantee, setting the bar for excellence. This is completely free to ensure your needs and expectations are met.

If you develop any faults within this time period, you can either:

  1. Contact UK Planet Tools at +44 (0) 203 3972367 and we will assess the problem and provide you with a refund or replacement if applicable. 
  2. Contact Milwaukee via EService, or call Milwaukee Tool UK on 44 (0)1628 894400 for assistance.
  3. Send or present your product to a Milwaukee authorised service station, safely packed without any dangerous products inside, marked with the sender’s address, as well as a brief description of the fault. Unlike many retailers, there is no 30 day period wherein you have to contact us if there’s a fault. You can contact us any time within the year and one of our friendly customer service agents will be able to assist you.

Although, we would always advise you to contact Milwaukee directly if you can, as they will be more likely to have all the spare parts to fix your item.

NB: It is advisable to keep any receipts/invoices you receive from us, as this will be proof of the date of your purchase. Your guarantee lasts 12 months after this date.

What does this warranty cover?

Your warranty covers faults in both workmanship and materials caused by the manufacturer. For example, an electrical fault that has occurred suddenly and without misuse would be considered eligible for repair.

There are, however, limitations to this warranty. For instance, incidental or consequential damages cannot be covered. Items that have been misused, used contrary to the instruction manual, or incorrectly connected will not be covered; and so forth.

See the list of other products considered to be ‘outside of warranty’ below:

  • Any damage to the product that is the result of improper maintenance.
  • Any product that has been altered or modified.
  • Any product where original identification (trade mark, serial number) markings have been defaced, altered, or removed.
  • Any damage caused by non-observance of the instruction manual.
  • Any non-CE certified product.
  • Any product which has been attempted to be repaired by a non-qualified professional or without prior authorisation by Techtronic Industries.
  • Any product connected to an improper power supply (amps, voltage, frequency).
  • Any damage caused by external influences (water, chemical, physical, shocks) or foreign substances.
  • Normal wear and tear of spare parts.
  • Inappropriate use, overloading of the tool.
  • Use of non-approved accessories or parts.
  • Power tool accessories provided with the tool or purchased separately. Such exclusions including but not limited to screw driver bits, drill bits, abrasive discs, sand paper and blades, lateral guide.
  • Components (parts and accessories) subject to natural wear and tear, including but not limited to service & maintenance kits, carbon brushes, bearings, chuck, SDS drill bit attachment or reception, power cord, auxiliary handle, transport carry case, sanding plate, dust bag, dust exhaust tube, felt washers, impact wrench pins & springs, etc.

3-year guarantee

As you are likely aware, any fixtures you may have had to your tools during your 1-year guarantee are free of charge but do not constitute an extension.

Extensions of up to 3 years (which would be a 2-year extension to the standard 1-year) can only be obtained by registering your tool at https://warranty.milwaukeetool.eu/en-gb/landing. This is also free to do, but must be done within 30 days of your purchase date.

If your product is eligible and you develop a fault after 1-year, please do one of the following:

  1. Contact Milwaukee via EService, or call Milwaukee Tool UK on 44 (0)1628 894400 for assistance.
  2. Send or present your product to a Milwaukee authorised service station, safely packed without any dangerous products inside, marked with the sender’s address, as well as a brief description of the fault. It is recommended not to contact UK Planet Tools for repairs after the 1-year has passed, as your guarantee is directly through Milwaukee.

What does this warranty cover?

This covers everything the 1-year cover provides, although there are some rules as to what can be eligible for extension.

M28 rechargeable battery packs, battery chargers and accessories are not included in the warranty extension, and MX FUEL tools and batteries can only be extended by one extra year (making it a 2-year guarantee). In fact, REDLITHIUM batteries in general (which includes MX FUEL) can only be extended by one year.

All warranty extensions are subject to registering with Milwaukee within 30 days of purchase.
