Have lots of Makita batteries and needed to upgrade my old Makita drill. This one is much more powerful and easily went through concrete blocks.

This has been my go to drill for any drilling into brickwork/masonry for the last few years. I got fed up of my other drill being quite weak so i forked out for this in a combo with an impact driver. The drill itself is built like a tank designed to stand up to professional use. It's overkill for a diyer like me but I wanted quality that would last me for a long time. The only downside to this drill is it being very heavy.and therefor not being the best for screwdriving but I have my impact driver or smaller drill for that. If you're in the market for a heavy weight drill but don't want to shell out for brushless then got for this!

The Makita DHP458Z is yet another quality product.Powerful, well made and nicely balanced drill/ driver.I also like the fact that you can check the battery life on the drill by simply pressing a button.I use the Makita 5ah battery with this drill but with all batteries that are fully charged, unless used they all run down over a period of time.
