Well made, light weight mower. Just gets around our estimated 500m sq lawns on two 3AH batteries which I have from previous Makita tools. Other great thing is the plastic deck. A steel one was the downfall of our previous mower as it just rotted through.

Power Tool Battery Chargers

While a range of electric power tools from Makita, Bosch, and DeWalt have battery chargers included, it’s always good to have a spare. Having a portable charger in your tool bag can save you a big headache if you ever damage or lose your everyday charger. Thankfully, you’ll find a wide selection of options at UK Planet Tools.

As well as cheap plug-in options, we’ve got powerful lithium-ion battery chargers complete with a stand. They’re not expensive, but they charge drills, saws, multi-tools, sanders, and much more quickly and efficiently.

Before you choose a portable charger for your tool bag, it’s worth knowing about the various features to look out for. It’s also a good idea to shop around for the best prices.

Always Choose a Lithium-ion Battery Charger

Some older battery chargers aren’t suitable for the latest power tools. In fact, you can’t buy power chargers for older products, as the batteries aren’t produced anymore. While you might come across both NiCd and NiMH batteries, you should always look for a lithium-ion battery charger. They deliver high-quality performance for a good price, and they’re much safer than older versions.

What to Look for When You Buy a Lithium-ion Battery Charger

A cheap battery charger might seem like the best option, but you need to make sure it’s capable of charging all your power tools. Check the manufacturer’s instructions to ascertain whether the device delivers sufficient voltage. Most manufacturers will communicate charging times for a standard 2.5Ah battery. But some power tools feature 4.0Ah batteries.

Li-ion Battery Charger Features

A battery to battery charger for power tools should include the following features:

  • The ability to charge a 2.5Ah battery in less than half an hour
  • The ability to fit an adapter for charging different types of Li-ion batteries
  • Sound notifications for fully charged status
  • Cooling fans
  • Wall mounting fixtures and fittings
  • A digital display
