I had wanted a mitre saw for a long time, but could not justify the relatively high cost for my limited needs. I eventually bought the Bosch GCM 800 SJ for a specific, big project that required many repetitive cuts to length. It meets or exceeds all my needs in terms of safety, ease of use, cutting performance and accuracy. It is still relatively new so I cannot comment on its long-term reliability or working life.It does seem to be well made, although I was disappointed that it was made in China not in Germany. I was also annoyed that the price increased significantly in the short time between me first looking at this saw and buying it.

I am redoing all the floors in the house from carpet to wooden floors. The planks I'm putting in are about 28cm wide and the saw has no issues whatsoever cutting it with precision.I wish there would be a dustbag to attach to it so the dust could be minimised or an adapter piece to connect a normal hoover to it. I am not spending hundreds of pounds on the Bosch vacuum. It can only angle 45 degrees to one side so sometimes you will have to turn your plank over to cut in the other direction. But even then there is almost no splintering if you move slowly. There is no laser on the machine to "aim" your cut but it's not a big deal.I recommend it to anyone who is renovating a home. It's a pleasure to work with.

Bought to cut boards for new hardwood floor and skirting. Great ease of use - makes cutting mitred joints a breeze. Extremely useful for all woodworking projects. Worth getting a cheap vacuum cleaner from Aldi/Lidl to collect the sawdust generated via the socket supplied with the saw.

Bought this to put in my workshop and it’s does the job well and cuts wide pieces also the angle is accurate straight out the box but would check with a square. Put it on my mitre saw bench and works a treat I’m happy

Fantastic bit of kit. Almost 100% accurate out of the box. But very east to adjust, and once I did that, the 45 degree cut both ways was 100 accurate. Perfect for architrave and the like.

It's a good solid saw and not too noisy.I mainly use it for cross cutting soft wood and mitreing. All accurate and good. It's downfall is it doesn't have a trenching facility.
