The Fiskars Splitting Wedge has a special helicoidally shape which makes the wood burst more easily. Ideal for larger logs which resist splitting with a typical splitting axe strike. This wedge features a rounded head to avoid material fragmentation and is made of forged steel for robust performance.
Inserting the wedge into a cut aperture and then striking it with a sledge hammer will reduce the need to use several wedges because of its special shape.
This durable rotating wedge of hardened steel by Fiskars is good for splitting wood thanks to the cutting edge which has been rotated by 90°, the notches for a better grip, and the rounded head to prevent metal damage. It is equipped with a steel bracket, letting you attach it to standard hooks.
