Set the thermostat to MAX to pre-heat, then turn back until you hear a click; the automatic thermostat cycles the unit on/off to maintain a steady room temperature while helping reduce power consumption.

Safety comes built in: a manual reset thermostat and overheat protection will switch the heater off if internal temperatures rise too high; once cooled, it can be reset and used again.
