As with most Makita tools this is well built and is easy to use. Worth spending the money on genuine Makita equipment rather than the aftermarket alternatives. The only (very minor) issue I had was tha the depth stop screw was pretty tight. After winding it up and down once and applying a drop of oil it worked perrfectly.

I find the hand trimer a little fiddly when routing out doors it's hard to keep flat, this plunge base give you much better stability and accuracy.
