The drill bits are great. But the case will try to bite your fingers every time you close it. The case design is terrible.

Couldn't wait to review these metal bits, read a few reviews and took the punt, a little more expensive than the ones I was originally looking at, however these a well worth the few pounds more, cut through steel like butter and still sharpe after. I'll be sticking with Milwaukee going forward.

I didn't want to review these without testing one of the bits on stainless steel, so I took on the task of opening a dust-filled fan heater which couldn't be opened by any standard type of screwdriver and then set about drilling out the bolts. Progress halted while working on the third bolt as the bit lost its sharpness, but that's inevitable with any drill bit - they cannot magically stay sharp when wearing away so much metal of such toughness. So, I got my sharpening stone out and angled one of the cutting edges level with it, then tilted it about ten degrees away from me so as to wear down the surface at the right angle to leave the cutting edge as the only part that would contact the surface being drilled, and gradually I restored both edges to adequate sharpness. (I used a lupe, a magnifier for looking at slides, to keep checking the edge as I restored it - initially I could see that it had worn down to the point that it could no longer dig into the surface as the metal just behind the edge was too high to allow that, so the task was to remove a thin layer of the surface behind the cutting edge.) It was then able to complete the drilling job. (The fan heater is now as good as new instead of being thrown out - 99% of these must go to landfill just because people can't clean them.)What matters with drill bits is how long they last before becoming blunt and how often you need to sharpen or replace them. If it happens fast, drilling through stainless steel becomes impractical. With these drill bits, it is fully practical for doing the occasional job of the kind described, but if you're drilling stainless steel you should get a sharpening stone and learn to use it correctly with them to keep restoring the edges. How well other drill bits compare, I do not know, but I doubt I'll ever need to buy any to find out because this set should certainly outlast me. Be careful when closing the box though, because it can pinch your fingers.

The Milwaukee drill bit set came in a very nice case that's easy to fit in your pocket or tool bag. I've only used a couple of the bits so far and from what I've seen they're of pretty good quality and very good value for money.
