I'm just a moderate ability DIY'er. I have persevered with long spirit levels for years and while they have mostly served me well, this laser level was so much simpler and quicker and importantly confidence inspiring.I didn't feel compelled to do my verging on OCD check/recheck/recheck/recheck, etc. like I normally do.It would be nice if there was a way of locking the gimbal mechanism when it is in storage so it didn't feel like it would shake itself apart but apart from that it has been great.Tip: take the batteries out as soon as you are not using it for a period of time. It chewed through batteries.

Works well indoors, less so outside on a sunny day when you can't see the level projected. Huge fun indoors when you have visual confirmation that your 125 year old house is as wonky as you thought it was ... great for lining up pictures, mirrors etc for hanging which is its main purpose. Just not for wires for garden plants along a fenceline.

How did I ever install a kitchen without one of these? simple to use and makes kitchen fitting a doddle. Plenty bright enough to see with daylight streaming through the window but even easier to see with the blinds drawn. I don't know about the included clamps etc because I just attached to my camera tripod.
