The new DCP580N features a brushless motor which guarantees you'll get an efficient and cost-effective planer that will last for years to come. It has twin blades for a smoother finish, market-leading rebate capacity,increased runtime and a precision 0.1mm depth adjustment. With on-board blade/torx key storage and an air lock port this is a great all-round performer.

Bought this for quick jobs.Good details.Blade release mech.Alan key on board storage.Lighter than mains and no lead.Better adjustment.Not so good.Only max 2mm cut depth per pass.Chip ejection poor compared to main unit, doesn't really fill the bag so have to use without.Good for handy but an 18volt 5 amp hour battery doesn't last long when working.The 54v 12amp hour will give a full day but heavy on the hand and arm.

Fantastic tool, I’ve got quite a few dewalt cordless tools and this planer was a great addition. I’ve been fitting a kitchen, hanging new doors and lots of other DIY stuff we all get up to. This gets a lot of use and I’m really pleased with it. I bought the bare unit, make sure you also buy the dust bug for this tool as it comes in handy if you are doing a quick job on a door while it’s still hanging.,
