Authorised Milwaukee Distributors: What's changing in February 2024?
![]() |
We're doing it the Milwaukee way!
In the interest of improving their big red brand, from 1st February 2024, Milwaukee will no longer be sold on Amazon, eBay, Mano Mano or any similar e-commerce platform in the United Kingdom, but only via Authorised Milwaukee Distributors.
That's good news for you, UK Planet Tools customers: as an authorised Milwaukee dealership, we're thrilled to continue to hold Milwaukee in our catalogue, with more benefits than ever before for choosing distributors like us:
The extended guarantee(s) will be granted only to new items purchased on or after 1st February 2024 and registered within 30 days of purchase, with rights already established before this date to remain unaffected. |
What are the benefits of these changes?
There are many reasons why buying from authorised retailers is better than via a third party:
- Expert service: Milwaukee dealerships receive regular training and have good connections with the Milwaukee team, allowing for better assistance when a query or problem occurs.
- Satisfaction guaranteed: when buying from a Milwaukee distributor, you'll benefit from a one-year guarantee as standard, covering faults in workmanship & materials caused by the manufacturer, as well as extended warranties for select products.
- Quality products & repairs: with an Authorised Milwaukee Distributor, you can be confident that the items purchased have come from Milwaukee manufacturers and aren't counterfeit goods. You can also benefit from repairs with genuine parts!
Why has Milwaukee chosen to do this?
Milwaukee puts a lot of trust in its distributors to sell their products whilst maintaining its reputation for quality. They build great relationships with these retailers and have full control of their brand every step of the way.
But problems arise when it comes to third-party sales, as it is a lot harder to oversee distribution: scammers could sell stolen goods for an unfair profit, repair items with cheap, non-genuine parts, etc., all without Milwaukee's knowledge.
The best way to stomp out these problems? Sell only through trusted sources!
How do I know if an 'Authorised Milwaukee Distributor' is legitimate?
The answer to this is simple: they will be searchable on Milwaukee's official website.
For example, you can find us by following these three easy steps:
- Scan the QR code (or click here).
- Type in 'Milton Keynes, UK', and hit the search button.
- Use two fingers to zoom in and click on the lightning icon(s). We're found in Holdom Avenue, Bletchley!
Are there changes to the warranty terms and conditions?
One-year guarantees will be the same on 1st February 2024. Current warranties placed within 30 days of purchase will be subject to the terms and conditions applied at the time of registering your product(s).
Warranty extensions will be changing – choose UK Planet Tools and take advantage of three warranty extensions.
New warranty registrations will only be honoured when purchasing from an Authorised Milwaukee Distributor from 1st February 2024.
What are the three warranty extensions?
Depending on what you buy, you can apply for the following extensions on your guarantee:

1. 3-year guarantee on Milwaukee Power Tools |

Milwaukee Hand Tools – Lifetime Guarantee
Faulty Milwaukee handtools can be replaced or repaired free of charge under a lifetime guarantee should they break during normal usage due to material or manufacturing fault.
This excludes handtools without apparent fault worn out but still functional, rusty, burnt, abused, modified, transformed, ground, welded, used for other purposes than the normal use, destroyed by neglect or intentionally.
Milwaukee Handtool Lifetime Guarantee Process & Requirements
Process
The process for repairs would go like this:
- The end user (that's you) would have a defective handtool.
- The end user will then get in touch with an authorised Milwaukee distributor (that's us, or any local authorised dealer found here)
- The guarantee availability will be checked over by the authorised dealer
- If the guarantee applies, a replacement can be offered to the end user immediately
Requirements
In order to get the handtool services as a guarantee claim, the following requirements must be fulfilled:
- The Milwaukee Handtool Lifetime Guarantee Process must be gone through.
- The hand tool must have been purchased from an authorised Milwaukee distributor in Europe, UK, Middle East, India and Africa – in this case, the UK.
- Valid proof of purchase must be shown and recorded, so keep hold of any receipts and invoices you have after making a purchase.
- The authorised dealer must check if the hand tool is qualified for the guarantee process.
- 'End user' is defined as the customer/owner of a product who purchased it from a retailer.
- 'Lifetime' is defined as the period of time a tool can be expected to last under normal use and conditions.
- The authorised Milwaukee distributor is using the reimbursed process defined by Milwaukee to get the tool exchanged, reimbursed.
- Statutory rights remain unaffected.
Applicable products
There are some hand tool products that are not eligible for lifetime warranty. Please check the following before attempting the guarantee process.
- Eligible under lifetime guarantee: Milwaukee Hand Tools (purchased from an authorised dealer)
- NOT eligible under lifetime guarantee: Measurement Hand Tools, Milwaukee Accessories
Examples of Valid Guarantee Claims
A valid claim will show clear breakage of a product (e.g. a spanner) but it will be in good condition.
For example:
- A screwdriver in good condition but slightly bent over time.
- Scissors in good condition, but the pin is broken.
Examples of Non-valid Guarantee Claims
An invalid claim will not be caused by manufacturing defects but instead by means out of Milwaukee's control.
For example:
- Handtools that show normal wear and tear based on usage.
- A hand tool with breakage caused by misuse, showing significant physical impacts or has rusted.
- Modified hand tools that have been made to fulfil a different task than the tool's original purpose.
Hammers Guarantee Claim Guideline
Metal Head Hammers – Example #1
- Valid: Face has smooth depressions and/or open voids or cavities in the face. There is a defective titanium casting.
